1924 – 2014
Peacefully passed away at Woodingford Lodge in Tillsonburg on January 9th, 2014 in her 90th year. Loving mother of George (Mary Ann), John (Carol), and Alina. Cherished grandmother of John (Melissa), David (Katrina), Jason, Jessica, Chester and Dean. Very proud great-grandmother of Jayda, Jayme and Addison. Irena will be sadly missed by her nephews and nieces in Buffalo and Poland. Predeceased by her husband Walter (1999), infant son Stanley (1945) and son Zig (1994). Friends will be received by the family at Ostrander’s Funeral Home Ltd., 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Sunday, January 12th, from 2-4 pm and from 7-9 pm. Parish prayers will be held at 7:00 pm. A private service will be held in Hamilton on Monday January 13th. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at CCAC and Woodingford Lodge for their compassionate care of Irena. Memorial donations in Irena's memory will be gratefully accepted by the family and may be made payable by cheque to Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, the Helping Hand Food Bank or the charity of your choice.
