John  David "Jack"  Allison
John (Jack) David Allison of Tillsonburg passed away peacefully from this life into God’s eternal rest at University Hospital in London on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the age of 81 years. He was born in Ingersoll on May 25, 1935. He is survived by his beloved wife Esther (Barnes) Allison, two sons, Shayne and his wife Gidgit Allison and Tyler Allison, son-in-law David Leavers and his wife Donaleisa and their children, Charlie and Gracie Leavers. Jack is now with his two daughters in heaven: Tamara Lynn Allison Leavers (1960-1997) and Trina Charlene Allison (1967-1967). He will be greatly missed by brother Frank Allison and wife Ann, sister Elaine Nadalin and husband Chike, step-brother David and wife Rosalyn, step-sister Dorothy (Smith) Campbell and husband Ken Campbell, Bernice (Prouse) Rooke and husband George (deceased). He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and cousins. Jack is predeceased by his mother Pauline (Pollard) Allison (December 25, 1942), step-mother Flossie Mae (Smith) Allison (April 19, 1955) and father Harry David Allison (November 15, 1993). Jack was baptised at Verschoyle United Church in 1936 and he attended Sunday School there. Jack was confirmed in the Christian faith by Rev. Walter Otten and he joined St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in 1960. He was married to Esther Barnes on July 18, 1959, farmed on the Culloden Road north of Verschoyle, retired to the Tillsonburg area in 1995. He enjoyed his horses on the country property prior to moving into “Town.” He enjoyed the Veterans Memorial Trail and his position as elder in the Church. Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 60 Young Street, Tillsonburg. Pastor Paul Schallhorn officiating. A light lunch follow the funeral service. Spring interment in the Mount Elgin Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made (payable by cheque) to the Trina Allison-Tamara Allison Leavers Memorial Award Fund (annual awards go to IDCI and Glendale grads with special needs), Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice.
