Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.
Beloved husband of Indira, treasured father of Sarah, and cherished brother
of Holly Reynolds (Andrew Stark). Fondly remembered by brother-in-law Neil Ramdeholl,
his wife Tori Owen and family members Sonia and Keith Chater; loyal
friends Dennis and Denise Harwood, Ron and Deb Wycherley, Scott and Marsha
Campbell, and close colleagues, Jack Whitmore, Dan Cotnam
and the team at Shoppers Drug Mart.
Gord moved to Tillsonburg and joined Jack Whitmore Pharmacy as a partner
shortly after graduation from the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of
Toronto, in 1973. In later years, Gord practiced at Big V and Shoppers Drug
Mart. Throughout his working life Gord built many lasting relationships.
Actively involved in the community, he was recognized as a Melvin Jones
Fellow by the Lions Club for his humanitarian service.
Gord served as both a past president and
treasurer of the Tillsonburg Lions Club and a former board member of the
Tillsonburg BIA and Community Living. Gord was passionate about golf and was
a former member of the Tillsonburg Curling Club.
Gord was a man of great integrity and perseverance and we
are all diminished by his passing.
The family would like to express sincere thanks for the exceptional care
Gord received from Dr.D. Dockx and Dr.J. Sondhi and the compassionate support of
the staff at CarePartners.
Friends may call at Ostrander's Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street,Tillsonburg
(519-842-5221) for visitation on
Friday, February 24th, from 3 pm to 7 pm. A celebration of Gord's life will
be held at St Paul's United Church, 88 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg
on Saturday, February 25th at 1 pm with
Rev. Pat Cook officiating. Interment to follow in the Tillsonburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tillsonburg District Memorial
Hospital Foundation or Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides.
