Peacefully, at Woodingford Lodge in Tillsonburg on Tuesday evening, November 7, 2017, Doris Staley passed away at the age of 91 years. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Staley (1968). Loving and caring mother of Lynn Jennings (George) of Frogmore. Much loved grandmother of Shawn Jennings (Gisele), Melissa Stevenson (John) and Christopher Jennings (Sarah). Also survived by her great grandchildren Andrew, Jason, Danielle, Joshua, Alex and Abigail as well as her brother Jack Manary (June). Doris will also be missed by her several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Harry and Nora Manary, brother Mac, his wife Beatrice Haley and sister Marie Keast (2006). In the early days while living on a tobacco farm Doris finished her elementary education. When she met Leonard and married they farmed together for years. Doris loved to square dance and polka at the Roosevelt Hall where she had many lovely memories. She had commented frequently about her German Shepherd named Carlo, she also mentions traveling all over Canada, the U.S. as well as Jamaica and Hawaii. Doris’s main stay in life was “be good, don’t steal, don’t lie, always be fair and don’t criticize others”. Doris was also an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. The visitation for Doris will take place at Ostrander Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell St., Tillsonburg, ON, N4G 3T6, (519) 842-5221 on Thursday November 9, 2017 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held in the Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel on Friday November 10, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Ted Smith will officiate. Interment will be held in the Tillsonburg Cemetery.
