The family wishes to announce the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great grandmother, Marion Emmeline (Brown) Hoshal on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital at the age of 101 years. Marion was born May 4, 1916 and raised in the Port Burwell area by her parents Marshall and Helena Brown. She was the oldest of three girls, herself, Margaret and the late Pauline. Marion received her public and secondary education at the public and continuation school in Port Burwell. She went on and completed a hairdressing course at a hairdressing school. Marion held a variety of jobs each one performed with dedication and excellence. From hairdressing she went on to become a grocery store clerk, a school bus driver and a school custodian for Elgin County Board of Education. In June of 1937 Marion married Harold Hoshal and they were happily married until Harold’s passing in October of 1994. Together they have three children Robert (Wanda), Peter (Carolyn) and Barbara Ferris. Grandmother to David, Mary Ann, Jim, Kevin, Jim, Aiden, Mandy, Jessica, Jefferey, January, Shane, and Tyler. Great grandmother to 8 great grandchildren. Great great grandmother of 4 great great grandchildren. Marion is predeceased by her mother and father Marshall and Helena Brown grandsons Rick and Carey Hoshal, granddaughter Carol Ann Ferris. Marion was a member of the Anglican church and guild and was also a Lioness member. She had hobbies that she was very fond of, this included knitting, sewing and reading. Together Marion and Harold love to travel and vacationed in Hawaii, England, the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. she lived a long and for filling life enjoying her entire family. Friends and relatives will be received on Tuesday, January 02, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for Marion will be held in Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 03, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kendall Reimer-Johnston officiating. Interment will be at St. Luke’s Cemetery, Vienna. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Trinity Anglican Church, Port Burwell, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
