Obituary for Leone Passmore (Duncan)

Leone Passmore (Duncan)
On February 1, 2018, Mum quietly and peacefully slipped away from us, to be with our Dad. While we are heartbroken to be without her smile, laughter and love, we take comfort in knowing she is now with other precious family members. Mum was born on the Duncan family farm, Plugtown Line, near Kirkton Ontario, a place she always called home, even though she lived in the Aylmer area for almost 70 years. She was the youngest of 3 children. In December of 1944, she met an RCAF pilot who had just returned home on leave from England. A whirl wind romance developed and our parents married in 1947. In 1949, they purchased a farm south of Aylmer. It was here that they raised their family. Mum was predeceased by her best friend and husband , Ken Passmore (2002), her parents, Alexander and Zoe (Mary) Duncan, her brother, John Duncan, brother in law, Red Keely and Dad's siblings Carl (Pearl), Zetta (Bill), Shon (Irene), Ab (Zella), Sue (Lorne), Robert (Margaret), and Mike. She is survived by her sons, Laird (Carol) and Leon (Deb) from Aylmer, daughter Janet (Phil) from Eden, her grandchildren Scott (Aleisha), Charlotte (Adrian), Monica (Kris), Clayton (Selena), her great granddaughter, Mya, her sister, Shirley, and sister in law, Jean. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, who called, visited, sent cards and whom she cherished.
Cremation has taken place and private graveside prayers with the family will occur at a future date. In recent years many have supported and cared for Mum. Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr Howe, Dr Abdalla, Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital (2 South) and Tillsonburg Retirement Residence for exceptional care and compassion. As expressions of sympathy, Mum’s favourite charities are Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, Thames Road United Church (Exeter, Ontario), and Canadian Cancer Society. Donations may be made by contacting OSTRANDER’S FUNERAL HOME LIMITED, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519)842-5221 who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
