Unexpectedly at her residence, Woodingford Lodge, Woodstock, on Sunday, February 11, 2018, Mary Sofalvi (nee Nezezon), formerly of Tillsonburg passed away in her 81st year. Predeceased by her loving husband John (2002). Loving mother of Denise Botts and her husband David of Hamilton, Cathy Gilvesy and her husband Bryan of Tillsonburg. Doting grandmother of Paula and Joseph Gilvesy. Survived by one brother Joe (Grace) Nezezon, Tillsonburg; one sister Helen Szvirida (the late Steve (1996)) of Tillsonburg; and two sister-in-laws Ola Nezezon, of Tillsonburg; and Kathy Nezezon of Vienna, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by a younger brother Andrew (1953); brothers Steve (2000) and John (2010). Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed a wide circle of friends that included her “Chosen Sisters” with whom she shared many happy moments. Friends and relatives will be received for visitation at Ostrander’s Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell St., Tillsonburg, ON, N4G 3T6, (519) 842-5221 on Wednesday February 14, 2018 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. The liturgical service for Mary will be held in the Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday February 15th, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. A Private Family Interment will be at Tillsonburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital Foundation.
