Obituary for Wayne Arthur Hearn

Wayne Arthur Hearn
Wayne Arthur Hearn
1949 – 2018
The family wishes to announce the passing of their beloved husband, father, son and brother. On February 17, 2018 Wayne embarked on his final journey – leaving behind his wife of 38 years Marie and children Mac, Colton and Scott (Sherrie). He is also survived by his mother Shirley and sister Wendy Blodgett and her husband Jeff. His extended family includes brother in law Denis Trottier and his wife Lydia of Petrolia along with his nieces and nephews, Kathryn (Kris), Nadine, Brenden and A.J. and great nephews Lyle and Bryce. He will be lovingly remembered by Audrey and Jack Woollin of Tillsonburg. Predeceased by his sister Beth Ann Trottier (1981) and father Lyle (2011).

Wayne was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer and outdoorsman; he could be found outdoors during any season with his beloved canine companion (Bishop) walking the woods surrounding his home. He was a quiet man who had great patience and an affinity for water, he loved to be near it or on it as much as possible, especially the Otter Creek, where he spent many hours fishing and bird watching. His life cannot not be measured in years but by the love and laughter he shared with his family and friends and his contagious sense of humour will be missed by everyone as he was always quick with a clever remark intended to help lighten anyone’s mood.

At Wayne’s request no formal funeral will be held, but a celebration of life will occur at a later date.
Memorial donations to the palliative care ward of Woodstock General Hospital or Sakura House would be appreciated and can be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted with Wayne’s arrangements. His family would like to thank all those involved in his care over the past few months, Dr. Brian Holowachuk and the staff of Woodstock General Hospital; they would also like to acknowledge the staff of Sakura house for their compassion and kindness during his short stay with them.

“Eventually all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world’s great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time, on some of those rocks are timeless raindrops.
Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.”

-Norman McLean (A River Runs Through It)
