Jennifer  "Jen"  Rogers (Porter)
At the Caressant Care Nursing Home, Courtland, on Tuesday, March 06, 2018, Jennifer “Jen” Rogers (nee Porter), of Tillsonburg passed away at the age of 75 years, surrounded by her loving family. Perfect wife, and best friend of 47 years to Doug, of Tillsonburg. Wonderful and supportive mother to Rob Rogers and his wife Erin of Tillsonburg; Niki Vandekerckhove and her husband Don of Delhi. Loving, and caring grandmother to Ethan, Chase and Molly Rogers; Jayson and Aletta Vandekerckhove. Sister to Marion Porter; Madeleine Weeden and her husband Collin; and Robert Porter, all of England. Sister-in-law to George Rogers and his wife Diane of Delhi; Christine Porter, and Elaine Porter, both of England. Predeceased by her parents Sidney and Lily Porter; siblings Doreen Porter, William Porter, and John Porter. Jennifer was trained as a Mid-Wife as part of her nursing abilities in England. She moved to Canada in 1969 and worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Thomas Elgin General for a year before coming to Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, where she worked until retirement in 2000. Jennifer was a passionate gardener, Bridge player and participant in Tai-Chi.
Friends and relatives will be received by the Rogers family on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The Memorial Service for Jennifer will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel. A private family interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Lynedoch.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jennifer are asked to consider the Parkinson’s Foundation or the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital.
