DONALD “DON” EDWARD MATTHEWS (1940 – 2018)
Peacefully, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Friday, April 6, 2018, Donald “Don” Edward Matthews, of Delhi, passed away at the age of 77 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Betty (Heath) Matthews for 54 wonderful years. Proud and loving father of Heather Matthews, Darcy Matthews and his wife Tracy and Darrin Matthews and his wife Nicole all of Delhi. Cherished poppa of Brennan, Jayden, Keanna, Dakota, Tyler and Carter. Dear brother of Douglas Matthews and his wife Nellie of Simcoe and John Matthews and his wife Gina of New Hamburg. Don is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Earl and Margaret (Shortt) Matthews, his son Drew Matthews as well as brothers Larry and Norman Matthews. Don was a dedicated Machinist at Timberjack in Woodstock for over 25 years. Don’s greatest passion was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he loved very much. In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The Memorial Service for Don will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Robinson officiating. Inurnment will be held at Cultus Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the Matthews family.
