DONALD LESLIE HEFFREN (1929 – 2018)

Peacefully, surrounded by his family at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Sunday, August 19, 2018 ,Donald Leslie Heffren, of Frogmore passed away at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband for 57 wonderful years to the Late Iola (Vyse) Heffren (2007), son Leslie, daughters Donna Elku and her husband Ken, and Gail Heffren. Proud father of Linda Taylor of Brussels, David Heffren (Janet Rodgers) of Ingersoll, Timothy Heffren (Ruth Millen) of Port Rowan, Gerry Heffren (Deborah) of Frogmore and Patricia Shelly of Woodstock. Cherished grandfather to 18 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law of Burt Vyse and Muriel Winegardner. Predeceased by grandchildren Fred, Quincy, Rodney, Tammy, son-in-law George Taylor, brothers Murray, Henry, Robert, Wallace, Charles, Stanley and Lewis. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Don spent many years as a mechanic and truck driver. He enjoyed driving all of his vehicles. He was an avid ultralight airplane enthusiast and spent many hours flying his planes with his son Dave, and grandson Daniel. Don was a lifetime member of the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association of Tillsonburg, as well as the Courtland Flying Club. But most of all, Don loved spending time with his family. We will miss him dearly. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for Don will be held in Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Ted Derer officiating. Interment to follow at Calton Cemetery. Memorial donations to Autism Society of Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the Heffren family.
