After a lengthy battle with illness, Pierre Joseph Blanchet, of Tillsonburg, passed away at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family, Saturday, September 08, 2018 at the age of 63 years. Loving husband of 39 years to Donna (nee Crocker). Great father to Charlene Brown and her husband Dan of Tillsonburg, Eric Blanchet and his wife Michelle of Vienna. Caring “Papa” to Noah, Quintin, Brendan, Nelle, Susie, Connor, Callee, Caitlynn, and Madison. Brother to Marie Cyr and her husband Gilbert of New Brunswick. Predeceased by his parents Antoine and Madeleine Blanchet. Pierre loved fishing. He enjoyed his time at the coffee shop, and playing cards with his friends. Friends and relatives will be received by the family at Ostrander’s Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Pierre’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 in the Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, at the family’s request, memorial donations (payable by cheque) may be made to Lung Cancer Canada, or the LHSC-Cancer Clinic.
