RUTH MARIE ABBOTT (1926 – 2018)
Peacefully, surrounded by her family at Maple Manor Nursing Home, Tillsonburg on Sunday, September 9, 2018, Ruth Marie (Watts) Abbott passed away at the age of 92 years. Beloved wife of the Late Ben Abbott (1999). Proud and loving mother of her three daughters; Ann Marie Wilson (Gordon) of Ingersoll, Marilyn Moody (Brian) of Tillsonburg, Carolyn Bond (Terry) of Tillsonburg, her son Ted Abbott (Linda) of Courtland and daughter-in-law Ruthie Kinsey of Tillsonburg.
Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Dear sister of Sandra Watts of Tillsonburg. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; Henry and Julia (French) Watts, sons Richard and Bill Abbott, brother Donald Watts and sister Dorothy Ronson. Ruth enjoyed quilting and knitting but her greatest love was spending time with her family. Friends and relatives will be received at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for Ruth will be held in Ostrander’s Chapel on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Amorin officiating. Interment to follow at the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Parkinson Foundation, Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the Abbott family.
