I shared prayers with this friend

A friend who saw the beauty of each day

I smiled with a good friend

Where is my friend BONITA

My heart shook within when I read it

To the family of Bonita Stevenson, I extend my deepest sympathy. I am just learning of Bonita’s passing. Although, she has been on my mind for some time, and I suspected that she was at the end stages of her Earthly life. I did not know Bonita personally; I knew Bonita through her posts on Our Daily Bread and her blog, In the Still Moments. Bonita’s strong faith and love of God, as well as, her grace and gift of prayer were of great comfort, peace, strength, and joy for me while I was caring for my husband who passed November 1, 2015. Bonita’s prayers, words of comfort, insight, and courage saved me on many occasions and provided me with the C.A.L.M. and H.I.M. needed to calm my fears, maintain my faith, and care for my husband. Truly God’s intervention and blessing! I thank God for Bonita and for bringing Bonita into my life when I needed it most. My Bonita Rest In Peace In God’s loving arms. And may God comfort and strengthen you.

When I was interviewed to join Parkwood in Jan 2016, she was my only contact. She described and painted Parkwood Institute of Reserach in a very beautiful manner which attracted me to join Wound Care at ths insitution.

My orientation with her boosted for a perfect start. Bonita always believed in hard work and Professionaism. She portrayed this insititution as friendly and religous. She provided te vision of Research as promising. She wanted employees to take care of eacha and every part of building. She was a prompt helper and leader. She use to exlain difficult topics in simple way.

I have noticed that doctors had perfect confidence in her due to disciplined approach to accomplish tasks and resolve problems. She had a timely approch to address situations. I have experieced her execution of instructions which have raised the bars of Parkwood Institurion of Reserach.

We pray that her soul may rest in peace.

I crossed paths with Bonita few times during my career in London, as a trainee back in 2002 with Dr. Andrew Kertecz and again as a faculty and researcher at Parkwood Hospital. She was an example of organization, efficiency and professionalism. She will be missed by the research group at Lawson, may she rest in peace!

As financially savvy as she was uniquely creative ~ Bonita was known to refer to a wieldy, perfectly balanced spreadsheet, as a work of art! Bonita’s legacy continues here at Parkwood Institute Research…through the Newsletter she began, through Endowments she coordinated yearly, through the suggestions she made when the Lawson offices were redesigned on the third floor….. A lady who loved her family and adored her husband Graham and who once said “The day I got married was the happiest day of my life”. We will always remember her great testimony of God's love and saving grace in her life and His hand upon her, even through the painful struggles with cancer. She was an inspiration to everyone she met and in particular to those of us at St. Andrews Presbyterian who were fortunate enough to hear her speak.
