FRANKLIN L.A. GOUDIE (1920 – 2017)
Peacefully, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, Franklin L.A. Goudie of Tillsonburg and formerly of Ottawa, passed away at the age of 97 years. Beloved husband and best friend for over 80 wonderful years to the Late Edna Goudie (2016). Loving and caring father of Lynn Goudie of Mississauga, Kevin Goudie of Ignace and Brian Goudie and his wife Carol of San Diego. Cherished grandfather of Lauren and Lillian. Frank served for almost 30 years in the RCAF primarily in 412 Squadron. He was a member of the First UN Peace Keeping Force stationed in Egypt and also part of the team that mapped Northern Canada. Frank retired as a Warrant Officer and was employed for many years by Ottawa City Hall in Records Management. Frank was an active volunteer with the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 480 in Ottawa serving as President and was also Deputy District Zone Commander. He was also an organizer for the Ottawa Senior Games. In keeping with Frank’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family arrangements with inurnment in Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted with the arrangements.
