Obituary for Norma Agnes Victoria McKenney (Helsdon)

Norma Agnes Victoria McKenney (Helsdon)
NORMA AGNES VICTORIA MCKENNEY (1934 – 2018)

With unbelievable heartbreak we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Norma Agnes Victoria McKenney (Helsdon), in her 84th year. Norma will be welcomed by her soulmate and partner on Earth and in Heaven, Bob (2018) and her two daughters Nancy (1954) and Karen(2011). Norma helped to raise a strong family in Ostrander before moving to Tillsonburg in 2002. Proud mother of Mark and partner Cara (Parker), Anne, and son in law Richard (Howes).
Her true joy and legacy will be left in her family including all her grandchildren, Jenna (Dan), Candace and Matthew Howes, Cody and Amy Parker and great-grandson Eric, who remember her as compassionate, caring and always full of love and praise. We are thankful for the years and memories we have as a family.
Norma enjoyed her daily conversations with friends and family and always had a patient ear for listening. She loved shopping trips with the girls, vacationing in Grand Bend, playing piano on sunday mornings, and visits over a hot cup of tea. Norma always spent the extra time finding the perfect secret Santa gift for the ladies at Mission Circle and truly enjoyed the company of her extended family at The Springford Baptist Church.
A pot of her chicken noodle soup soothed any soul and her kitchen will forever be missed.
Friends and relatives will received by the McKenney family on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. The Funeral Service for Bob and Norma will be held at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Lola Mather-Dyer officiating. Interment will take place at Delmer Cemetery in the spring.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Norma are asked to consider The Tillsonburg Memorial Hospital or the Springford Baptist Church. A special thank you is extended to the staff of the St.Thomas Elgin-General Hospital Stroke Unit, the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital and to Dr. Anand Sohla for his kindness and compassionate care. Thank you to Pastor Lola as well for her continued support.
We will hold many wonderful memories near to our heart and will miss your presence each day. We love you.
