Glen Harvey Langfield was accepted into Jesus loving arms on Monday, August 06, 2018, at Alexandria Hospital, Ingersoll, at the age of 83, with his family at his bedside. He was born in Corinth and lived in Simcoe, Langton, Richmond and Tillsonburg. Glen was predeceased by his father, Cecil Langfield and mother, Hazel Langfield. Predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara Langfield (2011). Great father to his loving children, David, daughter Laurie of Tillsonburg and Jeff of Strathroy, two grandchildren, Chris (Rebecca) of Tillsonburg and Caitlin of Tillsonburg and his precious great grandchildren Amber, Carter, and Caleb. Glen will be missed by his sisters Gwenda (Don), Dianne (Stu), Joanne (Dan), Marianne. Survived by his loving brother and sister in-laws Russel, Fern, Donna (Charles), Irene (Keith), Wayne (Annette), several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister-in-laws Dorothy, and June, and brother-in-law Ross. Glen was involved with Alzheimer’s Companions for many years, along with their Walk for Memories. Glen loved country music and was a faithful follower of the late Terry Sumsion. He had a passion for woodworking, driving, and anything involving his hands. He was a Jack of All Trades, and could build just about anything. Glen was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Tillsonburg, who loved his church family and enjoyed his many conversations with all. Cremation has taken place. Friends and relatives will be received by the family at Ostrander’s Funeral Home Limited, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. followed by his celebration of life in the Ostrander’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Steven Amorin officiating. A private family interment will be in the Tillsonburg Cemetery, at a later date. At the family’s request, memorial donations (payable by cheque) may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society of Oxford, Cancer Research Foundation and Palliative Care Unit of Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll.
